Apple is asking users to urgently update their iPhones and Macs due to the vulnerabilities found

Apple has released important updates for iPhone, iPad, and Mac owners. The patches do not bring any new features, but the company urges users to install them promptly as they are critical for device security. The updates have even been released for devices that are no longer supported by the manufacturer. According to Apple’s website, the oldest phone to receive the update is the iPhone 8, which was released in 2017.

According to Apple’s security support page, the updates fix two vulnerabilities. Both vulnerabilities allowed attackers to execute arbitrary code on devices using images, resulting in data theft. Apple was aware of these issues and quickly addressed them.

The iOS 16.6.1, iPadOS 16.6.1, and macOS 13.5.2 updates are now available for installation. If the update is delayed for any reason, it can be installed manually. To check for updates, go to “Settings” → “General” → “Software Update.”

In the meantime, there is less than a week left until the presentation of new iPhones and other Apple news. Replacing Lightning with USB-C will be one of the key innovations of the iPhone 15, and Apple itself will present the transition to USB-C as a “revolution.”

During the event, an announcement is also expected for the Apple Watch Series 9 and the second generation of Apple Watch Ultra, as well as possibly updated AirPods. The release dates for iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and other Apple operating systems will also be announced.

By the way, iPhone owners can already test the new iOS 17 as a beta version for iPhone Xs and newer models. The new OS doesn’t have many new features, but there are still a few interesting tricks.
