Latest Problems Reported By Pixel 7 And Pixel 7 Pro Owners

Owners of Google’s Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are reporting issues with video in its YouTube or YouTube TV app. When leaving the full-screen view, a number of users are reporting their Pixel locks up and does not accept some or all potential inputs. Depending on the circumstances, the Pixel can need anything up to a reboot to unshackle the smartphone.

This is not an either/or situation; the bug is intermittent and is not universal. Abner Li reports:

“In terms of frequency, this does not happen every time you are watching fullscreen YouTube, or even semi-regularly. There’s no obvious pattern to it, but it’s remarkably annoying. Two people on our team have encountered this issue personally, while two others haven’t.”

This isn’t the first problem that Pixel 7 owners have faced since the device was launched, including networking issues that resulted in dropped calls, display problems including touch events being misreported and white lines appearing on the screen, face unlock not unlocking Google Pay, and media player controls not showing on the lock screen.

One of the most worrying has been the spontaneous shattering of the glass camera lens cover.

Many of these issues have been acknowledged by Google and are being addressed through software updates to these smartphones. No doubt, the new issue with YouTube will also be addressed promptly.
