Twitter Down: Timelines Go Blank

Twitter appears to be suffering a partial outage, with Twitter timelines appearing blank on the website.

Although the Twitter app and services such as TweetDeck appear to be working normally, visitors to the website are not seeing any tweets appearing in their timelines, using either the For You or Following view, as shown below:

As you can also see from the screenshot, #TwitterDown is trending, suggesting the problem is widespread.

The DownDetector website is also showing a huge spike in reported Twitter outages:

The official Twitter Support account is yet to acknowledge any known problem at the time of writing.

Twitter has become increasingly erratic since the takeover by Elon Musk, who immediately set about firing thousands of the company’s engineers in a bid to cut the company’s enormous losses.

The company no longer has a communications department to contact for comment on this latest outage.
