GUR about Putin's readiness for a long war: these are just horror stories

Russian President Volodymyr Putin and his entourage are not ready for a long war, although propagandist statements about this readiness are spreading, noted Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. He emphasized that for Putin the "red line" and the point of no return had already been crossed. Yusov believes that many representatives of the Russian regime and the business elite already understand this. He believes that Russia has already suffered a strategic defeat because it has not achieved any of its goals in this war. The representative of GUR emphasized that the Kremlin leadership has this understanding, as they see the ruble's depreciation and many other problems. He also noted that Russian propaganda speaks of a readiness to wage a long war only in front of the outside world, while such information is not disseminated internally. Russians are convinced that everything is going according to plan, that they have salaries and pensions, and that the war is far from their lives. According to Yusov, this shows that Putin and his regime are actually afraid of a prolonged war, otherwise their rhetoric would be different. Analysts also note that initially the Kremlin had no intention of prolonging the war in Ukraine. However, due to the failure of the Russian "blitzkrieg" on the one hand and limited assistance from the West on the other, the prolongation of the conflict became a forced measure. Russia's ability to withstand a long war depends on the time and space it will get to restore its military potential, experts believe.
