Last month I reviewed the fabulous SIVGA Oriole wooden headphones and they were some of the best-sounding wired headphones I’ve heard recently. The brand, established in 2016, has produced a new pair of hi-fi headphones featuring a real-wood finish.
The new SIVGA SV023 uses an open-back design and 50mm dynamic drivers for a rich and warm sound that SIVGA claims, in a press release, delivers “a spacious soundstage with excellent separation.” The 50mm drivers have been designed and engineered in-house.
Large drivers, like the 50mm models used in the SIVGA SV023, can sometimes make headphones feel heavy. However, SIVGA SV023 claims that its dedicated engineering team has been able to deliver a custom driver within the ergonomic headphone design that weighs in at just 318g.

Housed in a real walnut wood headphone chamber shell, the dynamic drivers have a Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) composite cone and a Beryllium-plated center. The SIVGA SV023 have a frequency response of 20Hz – 40kHz, a sensitivity of 105dB, and an impedance rating of 300Ω. With the frequency response topping out at 40kHz, there’s plenty of headroom for treble frequencies to give more definition to the reproduction of the music.
The earcups of the SIVGA SV023 are stuffed with soft memory foam and perforated with breathing holes to ensure improved sound quality and are more comfortable to wear and won’t make the listener’s ears feel sweaty. SIVGA says the headband is made with genuine leather and stainless steel and produces just the right amount of clamping force without unnecessary pressure, making the headphones feel light, even when worn for extended periods.
The SIVGA SV023 headphones are supplied with a braided 2-meter cable with a 4.4mm balanced termination. This 6N OCC cable has four strands, each composed of 30 0.08mm cores and 250D break-proof wire and is ideal for use with portable DAPs and headphone amplifiers. Also included is a 4.4mm balanced to 3.5mm single-ended adaptor and a 3.5mm to 6.35mm adaptor, enabling the SIVGA SV023 to be used with almost any audio source, including traditional hi-fi separates, laptops and smartphones.
