Reznikov submitted a resignation letter to the parliament

Oleksiy Reznikov, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, has announced his readiness to report to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and has submitted his resignation. This news was shared by Reznikov on his Facebook account. He stated that he has taken this step in accordance with the decision made by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. Reznikov also expressed his willingness to present a report on his work during his tenure as Minister of Defense.

In his Facebook post, Reznikov included a photo of his letter addressed to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk. In this statement, Reznikov highlighted that more than 50% of the territories of Ukraine, which were temporarily occupied by Russia, have already been liberated. He also emphasized the dedication and progress made by Ukrainian defenders on a daily basis. Additionally, Reznikov acknowledged the challenges he faced and pointed out several achievements during his time as Minister of Defense.

President Zelenskyi confirmed Reznikov’s decision in his evening address, announcing his dismissal from the position of Minister of Defense and stating that a personnel decision will be proposed to the parliament later this week. The appointment of a new Minister of Defense for Ukraine is currently being considered.
