Ex-pilot: Russian pilots clearly know where to launch missiles

Russian pilots are well aware of the consequences and devastation that their missile launches can cause. Viktor Savchenko, a former pilot of the 185th heavy bomber aviation regiment, revealed this in a documentary produced by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, titled “Downed Russian pilots”. Having flown countless hours on the Tu-22M3 bombers, which are responsible for launching missiles like Kh-22, Kh-555, and Kh-101 over Ukraine, Savchenko emphasized the pilot’s full knowledge of their actions. “The crew knows without a doubt where they are launching the rocket… and the immense power it possesses, equivalent to 950 kilograms of TNT, is what causes such wide-scale destruction,” he admitted.

Given these revelations, the documentary firmly establishes Russian pilots as war criminals. Despite not witnessing the destruction firsthand, they possess a clear understanding of the devastating consequences unfolding from their missile launches. The film serves as evidence of their accountability.

In a separate development, the GUR (the Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine) successfully executed a remarkable operation that spanned over six months. Reports revealed that they were able to entice a Russian pilot to bring a Mi-8 military helicopter, carrying parts for the Su-27 and Su-30 SM fighters, into Ukraine. Astonishingly, the helicopter landed unharmed, providing an opportunity for it to be utilized by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the future.

According to the GUR, the operation was a collaborative effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies and security forces, including the National Police. They established contact with the Russian pilot, who expressed discontent with the decisions made by the political leadership. Subsequently, they reached an agreement on cooperation. However, two other members of the helicopter crew, unaware of the pilot’s real intentions, chose not to surrender and were promptly neutralized upon landing.

Presently, the pilot and his family, who were safely transported to Ukrainian territory, are residing in Ukraine and making plans for their future. The successful operation marks a significant achievement for Ukrainian intelligence, showcasing their capabilities and dedication in countering Russian aggression.
